Ben explains her options. 1. The Sheriff’s Office in Smith County needs a bilingual dispatcher on the 911 line. 2. You would have to agree to attend a 4 week course in basic office procedures which they will pay for. 3. After that, you would train on the job for one month at minimum wage. 4. If you successfully complete the training, your pay would increase to $12 an hour plus benefits. 5. You also have to be able to work any shift. Minimum wage for a month will be tough but I can manage. 4. Twelve bucks an hour is close to what I had been making, and the benefits are probably better. 5. I live with my Mom.
