Promise – Jesus has made to us • John 10: The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. • John 7: 38: Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.

Choice – we make • Psalm 119: 30 -32: • I have chosen the way of faithfulness; I have set my heart on your laws. I hold fast to your statutes, Lord; do not let me be put to shame. I run in the path of your commands, for you have broadened my understanding.

The Word of God – alive and active • Hebrews 4: 12 -13 • For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. • Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

The Word of God – alive and active • Psalm 119 • v. 99 Oh, how I love your law! I meditate on it all day long; • v. 105 Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path. ; started to be so real for me.

Stay Open! • Hebrews 4: 8 b: Today, if you hear his voice do not harden your hearts’ • Hebrews 4: 11 a. : Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest.

Stay Open! • Matthew 11: 28 -29 (NIV) says this: Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Stay Open! • Matthew 11: 28 -30 (the Message) • “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me— watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly. ”

Living in the fullness of life in the Word of God • 1. He has made us a promise of giving us life to the full. • 2. Let’s make the choice to set our hearts on meditating and living by his Word. • 3. His Word is alive and active today. • 4. Stay open!
