Romania at a glance… Location: SE of Central Europe, 12 th country of Europe, as size in km². Stabile population: 20 million pers. Capital: Bucharest, 1. 8 million pers. Religions : Orthodox 86%, Roman Catholic 5% , other 9%. Structure: 41 counties and Bucharest municipality. Currency – LEU (1€ =4. 5 LEI)
Entry and residence rights Entry: EU citizens + EU family members need passport/identity card. � The family members non EU citizens need passport and, in some cases, entry visa. List of states whose citizens need/do not need entry visa: http: //ori. mai. gov. ro/detalii/pagina/en/Admisie/62 Residence right EU citizens + EU family members = residence right for max. 3 months. For � more 3 months – registration certificate is needed. By exception, the EU citizens who are looking for a job in Romania, benefits from residence right up to 6 months, without any conditions. Supplementary conditions for non EU family members.
Access on the labor market: � EU citizens can freely move, live and work in Romania, with the same rights as the Romanians. NO work permit required. Their family members (EU or non EU) have the same rights. � The non EU workers need an work authorization. � The EU/EEA national can work as employee, posted or self-employed. � Mandatory: the work contracts to be concluded in written. � Contract duration: determined/undetermined. � Working hours: full/part time. Normally, 40 hr/week; max. 48 hr/week. � Legal framework: Labour Code and Collective agreement
