Outline Create a self sustaining ecosystem in a sealed jar. Work with lab group Grade: Success of jar after 1 month +25 assessment points
Materials – Bring by Wednesday 1 empty & clean medium to large size jar w/lid Sand Top Soil - Do not clean. Small clean rocks/pebbles for bottom of jar Small patches of different kinds of moss 2 -3 larger rocks with moss Real stream water Small rotting branch or twig with small fern or moss growing on it. Bugs: Rollie pollies or other decomposers. No snails or worms.
L 4 E Jar Online Journal Create a “Google Slides” presentation outlining the construction of your jar. Each person is responsible for at least one of the slides. Keep theme the same and take lots of pictures. Use your school google account:

Hints Organize with your group members about: Who can bring which supplies. Who is responsible for which slide of the journal. One group member creates the journal and shares it with all other group members. Do some online research to figure out the best way to make a successful jar.
