Beam Instruments Injection Pick Ups • Production is ongoing for 2 pick ups, and 9 supports and ancillaries. • EN-MME very proactive on 316 LN raw material procurement problem. First two items will be 304 L of a different production method. • Installation schedule meeting planned for next week. Ring Orbit Electronics • To be installed in EYETS – VXS crate procurement is being worked on. • Planned to be ready for 2017 start up. Cost review for instrumentation to be done.

Low Level RF • MDs on 2 cavity operation has shown limitation on aperture in dispersive regions. • Decision is not to ask for 2 cavities for operation, but maintain possibility for MDs. • Modulated frequency capture could further increase the extracted intensity. Delivered to the LHC. • Critical consolidation issue for LLRF for Linac 3 energy ramping. RF need to make a proposal, especially considering manpower limitations. S Albright

LBS Line • ECR on vacuum modifications being prepared (waiting for integration finalisation). Production is launched. • Handling (removal of LTL and installation in LBS) clarified during connection of Linac 4, and the tooling availability understood. • Handling design starts 2017. • Controls specification for LBS beam transfer on-going.

Dump • 3 Dumps fabricated. • Design of the bending Y chamber is with MME vacuum design team, to be done early 2017. • ECR prepared, integration pending Y-Chamber final design – more efficient to finish and avoid SRR. • Controls solution for destination selection being worked on. • Discussion to improve slits after source (refurbishment and improvement as diagnostics) to be made very soon.

2018 MDs and Operation • Longer operation in 2018, especially for SPS MDs. • Make a proposal. • Discuss with critical groups (OP, ABP, RF). • Put on the table at Chamonix (Hannes talk)?

Options • Coming to the end of the study period. • Use the study reviews planned for January and February to reach conclusions on these (three review meetings being planned). • Discussion with STI is requested sooner (early January).
