Little red riding hood By Josh Barkway synopsis
Little red riding hood By Josh Barkway
synopsis ¡The interactive fairy tale will follow a similar path as the original but it will have a modern element to it. ¡There will be the same characters but there wont be the old costumes just a red hoodie for little red riding hoodie and normal clothing for the wolf who will be called wolf. ¡The man with the axe will have a knife instead as this is more accurate. He will be a good person but still with a manly attitude and personality.
My version v the original The wolf will be killed by the axe man but it will be at the end. Compared to the original version mine will include different tones and different settings. There will also be a change in what it looks like and it will be maintained as a dark low lighted film to add the effect which the story intended to which was about rape.
Location The location will be in a woods and in a tunnel. The setting will be at night the story ill be child friendly and still have the same story just with different slightly grittier locations for effects The original was based in a woods still but it will be at night rather than during the day giving a scarier effect.
Copyrighting ¡As the story was written in the 1800 s and copyright only lasts for 70 years it is ok to use the original story. I do not how ever want to stick directly to the original story I want to modernise it and make it so it is how it was designed to be which was fairly dark. The costumes will be different but modernised.
Themes and how I will address them ¡ The story has a lot of undertones and I will have to be careful with things like race and also with the sensitivity of themes displayed in the original. In terms of race I don’t want to use tropes from certain skin colours or nationality’s so I will cast according to who is fit for the role. The original themes hidden in the brothers Grimm version, will be present but will be a lot subtler. With the topic of religion I wont have anything pointed at any religions so that will not be of any concern. As the tale can appeal to a wider audience and most people grew up with it themes and the topic are now used to. For the gender roles I will be using a man for the lumberjack a girl for little red riding hood and then a man for the wolf. These are sticking to the originals and it would be weird to change it. Also having a female as the main character can show vulnerability so then this is affective in the storytelling.
Making the story child friendly¡The most important thing when planning for my film is to make sure it is as child friendly as possible without retracting from the original story and my representation of the characters, locations and themes. The settings will be darker and themes will be more present but the way which the lighting and also the editing are done will make it look warmer so then it is more kid friendly and they can watch it without feeling like it is based at adults, then again if there were some adult themes it could be watched by a parent and a child so then making it have variety.

Platforms and compression ¡ The platform I will be suing is interlude. , my reasoning for using this programming is so that it is easier for myself and then the audience to use. Whereas with You. Tube you have to make the options individually and this will cause issues I will make it easier for myself and use interlude. The editing will also be more efficient when using interlude this making the post production time a lot quicker and also giving time for any improvement. I will have to save the footage as an mpeg and then export the footage into interlude and then proceed to edit it. If I tried to use a different format then it may not export properly and it will mess up my work. The only thing with interlude is that there is a limit on the size of the file, which can be put into it. In terms of compression the mpeg will make it lossless meaning that I wont lose anything also editing beforehand will help me compress the footage.
