Braydon always played kickball with Keith at recess. Each day the boys would play together. But one day Keith decided he wanted to play football with another boy in his class and did not telling Braydon about his plan. This left Braydon with no one to play with. How do you think Braydon feels? What could Keith do to make this situation better?
Matt’s pet turtle of 10 years died on Sunday night. Matt came to school on Monday but did not say much to any of his classmates. At recess he played alone and at lunch he sat by himself. How do you think Matt feels? What could his classmates do to try to make him feel better?

4 -6 Extension Scenarios Eddy: We should have inside recess so we can play a good game of checkers. Joe: Absolutely not. We need some exercise so I want outside recess so we can play some hardcore football. Eddy: One time I tried to play hardcore football a couple years ago, and I got tackled and I almost broke my wrist but it was just a sprain. I don’t think that’s for me. Joe: If you aren’t going to play football with us, you should go sit under the tree! This might make Eddy feel like he’s a loser, and it would also make him feel disappointed. continued…
Eddy: We should have inside recess, so we can play a good game of checkers. Joe: I don’t think we should indoor recess. We are growing children and we need the exercise. Let’s play hardcore football instead. Eddy: One time I tried to play hardcore football a couple years ago. I almost broke my wrist but it was just a sprain. I don’t think that’s for me. Joe: Well we can just change it to two-hand touch, so that you could play with us. Eddy: Sweet. Count me in. If you were in class with Eddy, what would you have done? Which scenario would you choose to do? Why?
