Refurbishment Priorities 1. 2. 3. 4. Undertake whatever is necessary to ensure the structural integrity of the exterior – roof and walls – so that the building is watertight and secure. Make the hall thermally efficient, easier to heat whilst saving energy and reducing running costs. Other improvements to provide better and/or additional facilities Make the hall more attractive/comfortable for users/hirers
First Steps: Village Connector project � Working with CDA Herts create a village hall hub with grant from East Herts Council � Project plan agreed for capacity building and social prescribing to reduce social isolation and loneliness � Survey and questionnaire: throughout the local community to get users views � Responses to survey has provided evidence to deliver activities
Open Event � Open to the whole village � Opportunity for all the groups that use the hall to promote themselves � Chance to ask the public about what they want
Survey Highlights - 1 � 66 responses � ALL thought the village hall has a vital part to play for the community
Survey Highlights - 2 � Monthly Farmers Market is the most well attended by the respondents, followed by clubs and societies, and the twice-weekly post office � 48 suggestions for new activities covering 19 topics � Most popular suggestions: Film club, village fete, keeping active
