Connector Text-to. Self/Group 1. I can relate to Jonas when he breaks his leg on the mountain. When I was in middle school, I broke my leg during a basketball game. It hurt really badly; I had never experience that kind of pain before. Text to Text 2. The Giver reminds me of Harry Potter. I think that the Giver is a similar character to Dumbledore- he is very wise and helps Jonas understand many questions that arise in the book. Text to World 3. When the Giver explain the importance of sameness, it made me realize how many problems result from color. In history class, we learned about slavery and how racism still exists today all over the world. Maybe if we had sameness, this wouldn´t be such a big problem.
