Literacy Activity Endangered Animals

This weeks activity This week, we are going to create a ‘Save the animals’ poster You are going to research endangered animals. You are going to find out where they live, what they eat and what is happening to their homes/environments. You will then create a poster to save that animal.

What is an endangered animal? An endangered animal is: - A species that is threatened with extinction - A species with a small habitat - A species that has a small population An Orangutan is an example of an endangered animal. It is thought there are only around 7500 left in the world.

How might a species become endangered? - Habitat loss: As forests and wild areas are cleared to make way for humans, many habitats are destroyed, leaving animals homeless. - Disease: Introduced by humans or invading species, new diseases can attack plants and animals. - Climate change: Weather becomes more extreme, unpredictable and varied with climate change and this can affect habitats.
