Liquid A state of Matter By Carlene Beaton
Liquid : A state of Matter By: Carlene Beaton
Shape and Volume Liquids have an indefinite shape because they take the shape of the container that it is in. Liquids have a defiant volume because there is little free space between the partials.
Particle Energy of Liquids If you add heat to a liquid it will turn into a gas called water vapor.
Examples of Liquids
Particles in Motion Liquid particles are packed toghter and move quickly. Liquid partials actually want to stay together. Liquid particles will sometimes vibrate and will collide. Liquid particles are packed but are fairly spread apart so they don’t go over each other.
Comparison Liquid and solid particles are both packed together but move at different speeds. Gas and liquid particles both move quickly but liquid particles are packed together and can’t go everywhere.
Impact of temperature on state of matter If you add heat to a liquid it turns into a gas. If you freeze a liquid it will turn into a solid: an ice cube.
Extra Information Liquids have one free surface. A sticky force keeps liquid particles together. Liquids are very difficult to compress. Soup is a liquid!!!!!
