If you’re rewording a thought or mentioning a specific finding, you need to cite the author at the end of the sentence: Arthur (2016) argues that “the rise of the quotative like is most clearly seen in speakers under the age of 20. ” Research shows that young English speakers are using quotative like more and more (Arthur, 2016). APA, MLA, Chicago or other standard bibliography styles are fine. Be consistent.
