Lines and Angles Skill 14
Objective HSG-CO. 1/12: Students are responsible for identifying relationships between figures, and identifying angles formed by two lines and a transversal.
Definitions Lines that are coplanar that do not intersect are called parallel. Lines that are noncoplaner, that are not parallel, and do not intersect are skew lines. Planes that do not intersect are called parallel planes. A transversal is a line that intersects two or more coplanar lines.
Definitions Angles that are nonadjacent interior angles that lie on opposite sides of the transversal are alternate interior angles. 3 1 2 4
Definitions Angles that are interior angles that lie on the same side of the transversal are same-side interior angles. 3 1 4 2
Definitions Angles that lie on the same side of the transversal and are in corresponding positions are corresponding angles. 3 1 4 2
Definitions Angles that are nonadjacent exterior angles that lie on opposite sides of the transversal are alternate exterior angles. 3 1 2 4
