Linear Inequality A linear inequality is any inequality of the form ax + by

Linear Inequality A linear inequality is any inequality of the form ax + by ≠ c, where the ≠ can be replaced by >, <, ≥, or ≤.

Example 1 Graph the solutions to y y ≥ − 2 x + 3.

Example 2 Check the points (0, 0) and (3, − 2) to see if they are solutions to the inequality 2 x − 3 y > 6. 2(0) − 3(0) > 6 2(3) − 3(− 2) > 6 6+6>6 0− 0>6 12 > 6
