Linear Graphs – Cover-Up Method – Worksheet A In this competitive activity students attempt to destroy enemy ships using equations of lines. You may want to specify exactly what type of equation students must use. You can increase/decrease the time to play by adding/removing ships. The worksheet is provided in 2 sizes.

Printing To print handouts from slides Select the slide from the left. Then click: File > Print > ‘Print Current Slide’ To print multiple slides Click on a section title to highlight all those slides, or press ‘Ctrl’ at the same time as selecting slides to highlight more than one. Then click: File > Print > ‘Print Selection’ To print double-sided handouts Highlight both slides before using ‘Print Selection’. Choose ‘Print on Both Sides’ and ‘Flip on Short Edge’.

Scout Use equations of a straight line to defeat the enemy fleet! Mothership Interceptor Heavy Lifter

Draw the boxes for each ship on your grid. One ship must be in each quadrant. To fire a shot, state the equation of a straight line. A shot hits a box if it goes through or beside it. Only one box is destroyed per shot. If hit, the player must state the quadrant and the ship.

If you need to, fold your paper to show your opponent where the shot/line should be!
