Final Remarks Ø Most likely the commissioning start will be delayed by additional 2 days § Tests of General Emergency Stops (Arrêts d’Urgence Généraux) on May 26 § The schedule will adapt Ø Commissioning is scheduled for 2 weeks § Assumes that the source is already operational Remaining time is for setup of all operational beams, machine development and performance optimization Ø Started inserting the schedule to the ASM tool Ø § ASM = Accelerator Schedule Management 11 Injectors Performance Panel 5 March 2020
ASM 12 Injectors Performance Panel 5 March 2020
ASM – extremely cumbersome to use (1) Ø Every event needs to be created from scratch § Should be possible to clone existing ones Ø Can not easily move events: each time one needs to open event, and edit manually end and start date § Should be able to easily shift single events and also groups of events In case of a down time one should be able to insert “downtime block” and all events in selected time range should be automatically postponed Ø Each time one refreshes the page it comes back to the current date. Ø 13
ASM – extremely cumbersome to use (2) Ø Selecting every field requires typing name of desired value. § The worst example are items of the checkout lists: • “LINAC 4 -> beam commissioning -> lebt -> beam instrumentation -> [bct, faraday cup, . . . ]” § One has to add separately all the items in the group bct, faraday cup, etc. One should be able to add only the group “LINAC 4 -> beam commissioning -> lebt -> beam instrumentation” § Each time one needs to type “LINAC 4 -> beam commissioning -> l” to select an item § Selection should be reduced to values defined for given machine § Selection needs to be more clever, f. g. drop down menu(s) § One could copy from the machine checkout list web-tool that offers much better navigation 14
