~Introduction~ Hi, my name is Anna. My best friend’s name is Lilli. We are both upset that I am moving. Our dads work together and their company is moving and that is why I am moving. Lilli doesn’t know that she will be moving, too. She has another surprise coming! Her mom bakes a lot of cookies and gives them to Lilli when she does things for her mom. Anyway, I will be telling this story!

Lilli gets a cookie when. . . she finds out about the new baby today and acts happy about it!!! “Lilli, honey you have a new baby sibling coming!!!!!”

Lilli gets a cookie when… she goes to the store to pick out a border for the new baby’s room—by the way it’s a girl!!!!!!

Lilli gets a cookie when… she finds out about moving to a new town, same as me! Hopefully, a cookie will make her feel better!

Lilli gets a cookie when… she helps her mom pack. She is not happy about it but she wants a cookie!

Lilli gets a cookie when… actually, Lilli doesn’t get a cookie today. SHE GETS A PUPPY! His name is Scruffy!

Lilli gets a cookie when… she trains her dog and he stays off the furniture. If Scruffy stays off the furniture, he will get a treat too!

Lilli gets a cookie when… Scruffy and Lilli clean out their room and make sure they have everything they want to bring and not throw out.

Lilli gets a cookie when… she packs her clothes into her suitcase.

Lilli gets a cookie when… she helps pack up the car and they are on their way.

Lilli gets a cookie when… she arrives at her new house and she helps unpack.

Lilli gets a cookie when… she invites me over so I can help her unpack.

Lilli gets a cookie when… Emma is born and she is a GREAT older sister!

Lilli gets a cookie when… she helps decorate Emma’s room and helps out with her.

Lilli gets a cookie when… she is a good older sister and spends time with her new sister.

Lilli gets a cookie when… her mom is baking cookies for no reason at all!

Reflection I have grown as a writer in this experience by trying new ways to write a story. It has also helped me by writing my story in a book form so I can really plan my story out better. Cynthia Rylant is my mentor author. I love the way she writes and sets up her books. I set up my book from looking at the book When I was Young in the Mountains. I think writing a picture book has helped me think about writing in a new way. It has helped me become a better writer.

About the Author I have been writing ever since I could pick up a pencil. I think being in Enrichment and having Mrs. Bussewitz as my teacher has really helped improve my writing. My Aunt Chrissie is an author in New York. I want to be an author just like her some day!
