SUMMARY 1. Need of Railway Undertaken 2. Description of the light wagon SERGE MÉTRAL 7
NEED OF RAILWAY UNDERTAKEN It exists a 2 -axles wagon for block train But Need of short wagon with an UTI of 36 t able to operate at 120 km/h higher height for the ILU Cost equivalent of 2 -axles wagon Better productivity with a low tare weight SERGE MÉTRAL 8
PRODUCTIVITY • in France, for 120 km/h limits: 700 m and 1400 t • Two parameters: SERGE MÉTRAL 9
2 -AXLES WAGON Built for 22, 5 t/axle Tare weight 13 t Height of the loading plane 1150 mm More expensive equipment Brake disc or special wheels Suspension S 2000 SERGE MÉTRAL 10
LIGHT WAGON Built for 14 t/axle Tare weight 16 t Payload 40 t Height of the loading plane 900 mm Standard equipment Composite brake blocks Bogies for 140 km/h SERGE MÉTRAL 11

EXISTING WAGONS 19 light wagons légers for NAVILAND CARGO and NOVATRANS (3 triples, 4 doubles, 2 simples) Running behaviour tests with tare weight 14 t (results not satisfactory) Placing into service at 120 km/h after ballasting (tare weight 16 t) (Summer 2000) SERGE MÉTRAL 13
THANK YOU It is not a light wagon 14
