What are Skills Ø Skills is the learned capacity or talent. Ø Skills are abilities to use know-how to complete tasks. Ø Skills are gained through school/college, work experiences, hobbies, books, elders, peers etc. Ø Skills can be improved if we could identify, analyse and practice these skills.

Life Skills Ø We all have been using and are using these skills, they are nothing new. Ø Regular practice of these skills help us to be physically, mentally and emotionally healthy. Ø Life Skills can be applied in any context be it, health, education, relationships, career, marriage.

Life Skills by WHO Ø Self Awareness – includes recognition of ‘self’, our character, values, strengths, weakness, desires, likes, dislikes etc. Ø Empathy – is the ability to be sensitive to another person’s situation Ø Critical Thinking- is the ability to analyse information and experiences in an objective manner
Life Skills by WHO Ø Creative Thinking – enables us to explore the available alternatives and various consequences for a given situation. Ø Problem Solving – enables us to deal constructively with problems that arise in our day to day life Ø Decision making – helps us to deal constructively with decisions of our life.
