Why Time Outside of Class Matters 92% of a student’s time is spent outside

Why Time Outside of Class Matters 92% of a student’s time is spent outside the classroom. Some experts estimate that 70% of the learning that occurs in college occurs outside the classroom. According to CIRP, the typical college student spends 48 hours in class or studying. Students learn best when they engage in discussion and reflection. The student who learns the most is the one who is active, both inside and outside the classroom.

Student Life Purpose & Values We exist to help Cedarville University fulfill its mission

Student Life Purpose & Values We exist to help Cedarville University fulfill its mission to be a Christ-centered learning community by exhibiting the spirit of Jesus Christ and recognizing the values of God’s kingdom. We seek to equip students for lives marked by academic success, spiritual vitality, physical and mental health, relational accountability, personal integrity, and meaningful service. Love for God Love for Neighbors We will maintain a culture which encourages meaningful worship to God, obedience to His Word, and the regular practice of spiritual disciplines. We believe that next to love for God, the most important indicator of spiritual maturity is a love for those around us. We will let this spirit guide our interactions with students, and encourage them to do the same with their “neighbors, ” both within the University family and in our surrounding community. We believe that all of our efforts should result in glory to God. Our commitment to excellence is twofold. First, we will seek to provide our programs and services in a manner that demonstrates excellence. Second, we will encourage students to glorify God by striving for excellence in all that they do. Excellence in Effort Integrity in Conduct Because we recognize the existence of absolute moral standards, the value of truth, and the importance of submission, we will hold ourselves and our students accountable to maintain high levels of personal integrity.
