Life moves pretty fast – one day you’re a freshman just beginning your high school journey and the next thing you know you’re standing in line waiting to receive your diploma and walk across the stage. Are you READY FOR IT? Are you ready for college? Deciding what major to pursue, working on group projects and delivering presentations to your professors and peers? Are you ready for your career? Knowing what career paths interest you the most, going on interviews, and networking with business professionals? Are you ready for the rest of your life? Juggling assignments, leading teams and making tough decisions every day that impact those around you? Thanks to DECA, you’re READY FOR IT. You’re ready to pursue the major you know you’ll enjoy because you’ve already experienced industries like marketing, finance, business administration and hospitality. You’re ready to get your dream job because after a DECA role-play, a job interview is a walk in the park. You’re ready to lead a team to success because you’ve already been a chapter or association leader. You’re ready to take on any challenges life throws your way because you were a DECA member. We want every marketing student to join DECA!!!! Be a part of the Broad Run DECA Legacy!!! If your class earns 100% membership on or before September 20/21, your class will get a party! We challenge each member to get at least 1 parent member and 1 alumni member this year too ! Dues are only $25 for students ($35 with a t-shirt) and $20 for parents, employers, & alumni! Members who join by September 21 will get names on the back of our membership shirts! Last year, we had 278 members! Let’s get 300 this year! Broad Run DECA Officer Training: August 6 & 7 | Officer Installation at Riverside HS: Sept 25 Competition Interest & Overview Meeting on September 26 (Meeting for EVERYONE interested in DECA competition). Written Event Proposals are due by October 17! Oct 4 is DLC Meeting (DLC Forms Handed Out & Mentor Applications Handed Out). Broad Run DECA Chapter Project Directors will be implementing various community service activities within our school and community throughout the year. Categories are: Public Relations, Community Service, Financial Literacy Promotion, Entrepreneurship Promotion, Learn & Earn, and Creative Marketing. Battle of the Burn is November 2! / PINK Week is Oct 8 - 12 / Entrepreneurship Promotion is Nov 12 - 16. February is National CTE Month! Support our DECA School Based Enterprise, the BRHS School Store, The Spart Mart!!! Get all your Spartan Gear at the school store! We will sell Otis Cookies on Friday A Days! We will be selling Spartan Gear at some of the home football games (stay tuned for more details). Holiday Night of Cheer will be Dec 11 or 12. Gertrude Hawk will be in Oct/Nov for the Winter Holidays AND in Feb/Mar for the Spring Holidays! DECA Night at Chipotle is Nov 13! Thank you for supporting our program and all our efforts!!!
