Opening Questions n n What is your view of heaven? What will life be like in heaven? What will we be like in heaven? Do you really look forward to heaven?

Why do we need to know about heaven? 1. 2. 3. At some point we’ll have to depart and move to a different place, and for the believers that would be heaven. We need to also get ourselves familiar with that wonderful place. Most importantly we need to prepare ourselves to fit in the environment of such a great place.

PLEASE NOTE !!! n n n Very little was said about our life in heaven after our physical death. No matter how much we describe heaven, we will never be able to totally comprehend what it is really like living in heaven. Having these points in mind, we could still attempt to describe some of the few values of living in heaven according to the Holy Bible. “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him” (Matthew 2: 9 from Isaiah 64: 4)

How is it going to be like in Heaven? No hunger, no thirst, not hot or cold in heaven St. John the beloved tells us in Revelation 7: 16 that in heaven “they shall neither hunger anymore nor thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any heat. ” You may wonder what they will be eating and drinking. St John again gives us the answer in Revelation 7: 17 “for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. ” n

How is it going to be like in Heaven? No weeping, no pain or sickness In Revelation 7: 17, “And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes” And in Revelation 21: 4, “And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying; and there shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away. ” n

How is it going to be like in Heaven? No lust or physical needs Satan will be destroyed in the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. There will not be any lustful temptations from him. Believers will have new n resurrected bodies (Glorification) 1 Corinthians 15: 12 -58 Christ said, “For in resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels of God in heaven” (Matthew 22: 30).

How is it going to be like in Heaven? No covetousness, no envy, and no hatred In Psalm 133: 1, “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! (This is a prophecy about Heaven) n

How is it going to be like in Heaven? n v v v More great features in heaven No cursing but blessing from God No darkness because God is the God of light No ignorance, but rather full knowledge living among the courageous Saints such as the blessed and honoured St. Mary Praising the Lord with the angels.

How is it going to be like in Heaven? Finally the most important aspect of heaven is living with God Himself (Revelation 21: 3 -4) Christ likened heaven to a wedding, where the church including the believers would be the bride and Christ would be the groom. Earthly love between a husband wife entails that these people enjoy living with each other and are just satisfied by each other’s company. Likewise we will be with Christ and Christ with us. n

Conclusion Our living in heaven will be totally the opposite of our life here on earth. It will be a life full of peace, love, light, and many other blessings. Most of all nothing will separate us from the presence of God. Satan will have no existence. So our goals in life should be heavenly ones or ones that will prepare us for eternal life. God said, “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6: 33)

AN IMPORTANT QUESTION n WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING ON EARTH TO PREPARE YOURSELF FOR THE LIFE IN HEAVEN?
