Information Asking Subject: Questions on “Nice Talking with You” Textbooks Dear Sir or Madam, As an instructor who is organizing a new English course at Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, I am very much interested in the “Nice Talking with You” textbooks advertised via Cambridge University Press’s e-mail I received last week. In order to help me determine whether you text books perfectly suit the course, I would like to ask a few questions as listed below.
Information Asking 1. How can I get a free copy of the “Nice Talking with You” textbooks as I want to examine them more closely to plan my course? 2. Which level of the books would be appropriated for teaching college students? 3. If I do select “Nice Talking with You” textbooks for my 125 students, what kind of pricing deal can you offer? As the course will be started on September 6, 2017, I would appreciate receiving your responses no later than August 20, 2017. If I don’t have the information by that date, I am afraid that I will not be able to arrange the course effectively.
Information Asking Thank you very much for helping me. I look forward to hearing from you. Respectfully Yours, Adam Smith Rajabhat University Instructor, Suan Sunandha
Compliant Letter 30 August 2017 Dear Sir or Madam, My family and I had the great misfortune to stay at the ABC Hotel from 15 – 20 August; it was a terrible experience. We had been looking forward to ta quiet and restful stay, but the hotel itself and the surrounding area were extremely noisy. Bars and restaurants were playing loud music all day and all night. We couldn’t get to sleep.
Compliant Letter Our young sons, Emil and Jonathan, had been looking forward to playing on Cape town’s “golden sandy beaches”. The weather was terrible and the beach was filthy – there were plastic bags, bottles, cans and all kinds of other rubbish everywhere. The beach was a total disgrace. My husband I were looking forward to the “Romantic Dinner” on 18 August, but the food was totally dreadful, the music was too loud and the atmosphere was not romantic at all! In these circumstances, I demand some form of compensation, and I am looking forward to hearing what you now intend to do. Your faithfully Emily Smith (Mrs. )
Responses to Compliant Letter 1 September 2017 Dear Mrs. Smith, Thank you for your letter of 30 August that you were dissatisfied with your stay at our hotel. We regret that you were not completely happy. Please allow me to explain. First of all, the Street is famous as being the center of Cape Town’s nightlife, and the hotel has never claimed that its location is quiet. Indeed, people stay here mainly because we are close to these places of noisy entertainment. The hotel itself generates fair amount of noise as it is home to three bars and a discotheque.
Responses to Compliant Letter Secondly, I take your point about the beach being dirty, and several times we have contacted the local council about having it cleaned. However, that is really all we can do – the beach is simply not the hotel’s responsibility. Again, for our part, we have never claimed that the beach is “sandy and golden”, no matter how much we wish it to be true. Finally, let me turn to the “Romantic Dinner”. We believe that the evening was very successful, and all our guests seemed to thoroughly enjoy it. We had no other complaints. I regret that it was not entirely what you had wanted, but it is impossible to please everyone all of the time.
Responses to Compliant Letter In these circumstances, we do not feel obliged to offer any compensation. We hope you understand our situation. Yours sincerely The ABC Hotel Jamie Coral (Mr. ) General Manager
