Once you are on the website, scroll down to the assertiveness questionnaire and display it on the board. • Students: On a sheet of paper, write their response (1 -5) • Teachers: Once students finish, go to the next slide.
Students: • Add up your scores. • The higher your score, the more assertive you are. • Look back at the questions where you marked a 1 or 2. • On the back of the paper, write a short reflection about how you can be more assertive in that area.
• Remember there is a difference between being aggressive and being assertive. • Let's be aware of how we are acting and work on being more assertive and less aggressive. • Being assertive shows respect to yourself and others, whereas aggression shows insecurity in ourselves and is a way to try to control others. • Let's be respectful - why?
