Let’s look at the text…. Look carefully at the text. Why do you think the author chose to write ‘when she wasn’t allowed to’ and ‘when her brother Claude was at work’? What does this tell us about Libba’s character? She still played music even when she wasn’t allowed to… What does this tell us about Libba’s passion for music? She even heard it when she wasn’t allowed to. When her brother Claude was at work, Libba snuck into his room and borrowed his guitar. “Dang!” she whispered. Claude was right-handed. Libba was not.

Use evidence from the text, illustrations and authors notes to justify why you have written each point. On the inside of the outline, include words and phrases to describe her internal characteristics (her thoughts, her feelings and words to describe her personality) Around the outside of the outline describe her external characteristics (her appearance, include body language and facial expressions, what she says and what she does). You may choose two different colours for this task – one colour for internal characteristics and one colour for external characteristics.
