Sequences A Sequence is a set of things (usually numbers) that are in order. Example : 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, . . A, b, c, d, e, f, g, . . . .
Odd and Even Numbers Even numbers can be divided evenly into groups of two. The number four can be divided into two groups of two. Example : 2, 4, 6 Odd numbers can NOT be divided evenly into groups of two. The number five can be divided into two groups of two and one group of one. Example : 3, 5, 7
Prime Factors Prime Factorization – A way to write a composite number as the product of prime factors. Example : 2 x 3 = 12
Factors The factors of a number divide into that number without a remainder Example: The factors of 52 are 1, 2, 4, 13, 26, and 52
Prime Numbers Prime Number – a number that has only two factors, itself and 1 Example : 7 is prime because the only numbers that will divide into it evenly are 1 and 7.
