Introduction to Acts • No room for doubt (Acts 1: 3) – Presented Himself alive by many infallible proofs – Was seen and heard speaking of the kingdom of God • Jesus commanded the apostles to wait in Jerusalem for the Promise of the Father (v 4) • “Lord will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel? ” – It is not for you to know the time or season

Go Tell the Good News • In verse 11 what was the message they were hearing? • Two Reactions 1) Amazed and perplexed saying what can this mean? 2) Other mocked and said, they are drunk!
Go Tell the Good News Peter stands with the 11 “Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and heed my words. For these are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day. ” (9 AM)
Go Tell the Good News • Peter could have said, just believe us! We can do miracles. Didn’t you hear that? • However, Peter takes them back and shows them what is happening was prophesied in the Scriptures – – Why is this important? Acts 2: 17 -21
Go Tell the Good News • God Sent Jesus (v 22) – He was proved by miracles, wonders and signs which God did through Him • • You killed Him (v 23) God Raised Him (v 24) – Verses 25 -28 • • We are Witnesses (v 32) God is in control (v 23)
The People’s Reaction (Acts 2: 37 -41) • How did the people respond? – Cut to the heart – Men and brethren, what shall we do? • Peter responds – Repent – Be baptized • • In the name of Jesus Christ For the remission of sin – You will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit
The People’s Reaction (Acts 2: 37 -41) • The Promise is to you and to your children – To those afar off • Peter continues to say, “Be saved from this perverse generation” • Those who gladly received Him were baptized • 3, 000 people were added to the Church that day
The People Continue (Acts 2: 42 -47) • They continued steadfast – – In the Apostles’ doctrine Fellowship Breaking of bread Prayer How did the people react when the Apostles began doing miracles? (v 43) • What did those who believed do? The Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved! •
