Lesson Objectives Aims • To understand the key words used in the OCR exam • To review exam practise • To be able to provide answers of sufficient depth to achieve full marks

Before we start • Revision. What is it? How should you go about it? • Revision is NOT: – Reading all your notes – Going over all the material you’ve ever seen • Revision IS: – – Doing past papers/questions Identifying gaps in your notes or knowledge Focussing solely on what you DON’T know. Rinsing and repeating the above.

Key words • State/List/Identify • Make a single point – can be a very short answer or definition. Usually 1 mark only or 1 mark in a larger question • State facts, but then give extra supporting information. For example, give a definition and then relate to the question. • Explain • • Discuss • Usually a more comparative type of question – make use of the word “whereas” to ensure you are comparing the options available and also giving both sides of an argument Long answer questions, do NOT waffle, make as many points as there are marks, include positives and negaitves. Write each point as a short answer in its own right • Describe

Look at the questions you have… • Lets go over answers • Correct as necessary • Make notes about HOW to answer the question fully. • Identify gaps in your notes or knowledge (this is the whole point!!)
