Lesson 6 If the crayons could talk Both
Lesson 6 -If the crayons could talk. Both the children in this story have magic crayons – one red, one purple. Look back at the story powerpoint to find the different objects created by each child. If you could have a magic crayon, what would you draw? • Task 1 • One of your tasks today is to draw, paint or colour a picture using only black, white and shades of grey (muted colours like the story). Then add ‘magic crayon’ details in a single, bold colour. There is an example on the next slide.
TASK 2 If the crayons could talk, what would they say? Who created them, and what other adventures have they had? Write a paragraph or more about the magic crayons. Lesson 6
WAGOLL-What a good one looks like. Hello, my name is Crimson and I am a magical crayon. This is my friend Violet who is also a magical crayon. We were made many years ago by an old, mystical wizard. He made an entire set of magical crayons. Our colours covered the entire colour of the rainbow. He explained to all of us why he had made us. The wizard, who was called Gordino The Great, was aware of a terrible tragedy happening all over the world. He had found that the younger folk of the villages, towns and cities were losing their imaginations. He knew that if the little folk didn’t dream and create, then the world would cease to change and develop. Gordino The Great, transported us all to different places in the world, our mission clearly explained. I’ve had three different owners now and I have been on some truly spectacular journeys: to snow dragon caves, ancient castles, dense woodlands and hot, tropical deserts. My favourite journey (if not a little bit hair raising) was when my owner and I found ourselves trapped inside a lion’s cage! The golden, beautiful lions with their gleaming, white teeth were snarling and roaring. I could feel the hot breath of one lion, which was really close to me, upon my face. We had fallen into the cage by accident and stood frozen with fear, rooted to the spot. Fortunately, the zoo keeper noticed and quick wittedly dropped several large pieces of raw steak into the cage, thus distracting the lions whilst we climbed back out through the hole that we had dropped through. I really thought that was going to be my last adventure!
