The Problem!! • Show this arrangement of counters on your workmat on page 105. • This is an array. • It has the same number of counters in each row. • It also has the same number of counters in each column. • We can write an addition sentence to show this array. 5 + 5 = 15
Let’s Explore!! (page 105) • Model 2 rows with 4 counters in each row. • Write an addition sentence for number one. • Model 3 rows with 3 counters in each row. • Write an addition sentence for number two. • Model 3 rows with 2 counters in each row. • Write an addition sentence for number three.
