INDIVIDUAL TASK ANALYSIS The critical individual task analysis is the process you use to identify the task performance detail needed to develop efficient and effective individual training. An individual task analysis is conducted for each critical individual task, to identify all task performance specifications for that specific task. These specifications are concerned with how the task is actually performed, under what conditions it is performed, or how well the soldier should perform it. Task analysis data for critical tasks serve as the foundation for the design and development of efficient and effective individual education/training products and plays a major role in ensuring the relevance and validity of follow-on education and training. INDIVIDUAL TASK ANALYSIS • • • Individual Task is the Task the Soldier must Perform to complete their Mission. Performed to enable the successful performance of a Supported Collective Task. Proficiency must occur at individual level before it can be accomplished at the collective level. Several Individual Tasks will be required to Support a Supporting Collective Task (SCT). Must have at least two Individual Tasks. Supporting Collective Task are Task that support a Mission Essential Task(MET)

SELECTING CRITICAL INDIVIDUAL TASKS • Task that MUST be accomplished to accomplish a Supporting Collective Task. Example…If the Supporting Collective Task is Conduct Airspace Command Control, then a Critical Individual Task would be Implement Airspace Control Procedures. Without that task, the SCT would fail. An Individual Task that is not critical may be Supervise Airspace Control Procedures.

REFINING INDIVIDUAL TASKS • Task must be applicable to a particular unit. • Individual Tasks will apply to several Collective Task. • Must be approved by the Command.
