Lesson 3 - 2
MATH WAR ALGORITHM The game starts from the last student in each row. They must have a notebook to take note and solve problems. Who ever has answer will say CONQUER, and say the answer. If the answer is correct, the teacher says BATTLE WON. (He can also perform the algorithm mentally. )
MATH WAR ALGORITHM If the answer is wrong, the teacher says, BATTLE LOST. The other student from the other row will say CONQUER to steal the chance. The teacher decides whether it’s a, BATTLE WON or BATTLE LOST.
MATH WAR ALGORITHM For each correct answer, the teacher asks for the team’s DECISION? To keep in the game, the one who answers correctly will say DEFEND for the chance of the next math warrior; otherwise, say RISK to stay in the game. A warrior can only use risk once.
MATH WAR ALGORITHM The student also has the option to say BLOCK ROW (#). The row (including the warrior) which is blocked cannot answer. The one who blocked also loses a turn for his/her row. The next warrior however, can answer the question after the next.
MATH WAR ALGORITHM Any math warrior is given two chances to combat a battle. S/he should call the next line of defence to fight for the team to gain more points.
MATH WAR ALGORITHM A teacher can call out, “Next line of defence” regardless of who is defending, the warrior must surrender the chance to the next player. She can also call out, FREE GAME, where any first player to call out CONQUER is given a chance to answer and gain points for the team.
THE FIRST ANSWER IS THE FINAL ANSWER The team with the highest number of points is the winner!
