Today we will be naming 3 D shapes and their properties. We will also be going on a shape hunt in and around your home!
How did you do ? Using the shapes your task now is to write down the properties of each shape. Think about the key vocabulary you will need to include (These are the key words at the beginning of the lesson !)
How many different 3 D shapes are in and around our home? Your next task is to go on a 3 D shape hunt. Take photos to create a collage of shapes around your home. You can draw them if you prefer or don’t have a camera.
How many items in your home are shaped like a cylinder?
How many cubes can you find?
Which objects resemble a sphere?
You might even surprise yourself and find a triangular prism !
Whilst out on your daily work you may even spot objects that are cone shaped. Yum !!!
