Present Tense 3 rd Conjugation Verbs • 3 rd conjugation verbs have a little “trick” to make their present tense. • pono, ponere, posui, positus • Instead of dropping just the –RE to find the stem, go ahead and drop the –ERE instead! ponere – -ere = pon-

e re: pono, pone put, place e ! put! pone poniite! put! Singular imperative: Drop the –re. Plural imperative: Drop the –re, change -e- to –i-, then add -te.
