REFLEXIVE VERBS An action word that is performed or “reflected” back on the subject. § ex. I wake (myself) up. § I get (myself) up. § I dress (myself). There always two parts to reflexive verbs: Je me réveille me= reflexive pronoun réveille= verb

TO MAKE NEGATIVE Put the ne…pas around both parts: the reflexive pronoun and the verb. Je NE me brosse PAS les dents. Translate: I don’t wake up before noon on the weekends. (before=avant). Je ne me réveille pas avant midi le week-end.
BODY PARTS When adding body parts to reflexive verbs, use le, la, l’ or les. § Je me brosse les dents. § Je me brosse les cheveux. § Je me lave le visage. § Je me lave les pieds. NEVER use mon, ma, mes with reflexive verbs. (Idiomatic expression)
