New Leica DISTO™ D 8 – Features Double tilt measurement with 1 measured distance § You have to measure the height of a tree? § You have to measure the heights of windows from the floor to set up a scaffold? § With this function you make a first measurement to a reference point as e. g. trunk of a tree or base of a building. After this you only have to aim to the point you want to measure the height of and take the reading. Since the second measurement is only a tilt measurement you don’t need a reflective target (e. g. leaves or windows). Please note that both measurements need to be in one vertical line and in one vertical plane. 17

New Leica DISTO™ D 8 – Features Double tilt measurement with 2 measured distances § You have to measure the length and pitch of a roof or the facade of a pitched building? § You have to measure the absolute height of a building? § With this function you make a first measurement to the upper point of the object and than to the lower point. Both times the Leica DISTO™ measures distance and angle. You will get the direct distance between these two measurement points. In the second result you will find additional information like the height difference, horizontal distance and the angle. Please note that both measurements need to be in one vertical line, but not in the same plane as explained in the previous function. 19

New Leica DISTO™ D 8 – Features Profile measurement § You have to measure the profile of a land to set up a scaffold? § You have to measure several heights on a base plate? § You need to check the topography of a land? § With this function you can measure repetitively height differences to a reference point. If the reference point has a defined height towards a system (has already a height to another reference or you need values above sea level) you can first enter a value H for such reference point. Please note that if you want to measure a profile you need to measure each point in vertical line and then go for more lines in a certain distance rectangular to the profile lines (e. g. a profile line each 1 m). Since too flat measurements on a surface can cause deviations please use the target plate or a reference staff and measure the same point for reference and profile points afterwards. 21

CAD®? § With Bluetooth® you are able to transfer wireless to a computer. You can send distances or angles from your Leica DISTO™ to a PC (Notebook, Tablet PC, UMPC) or Pocket PC. With the free Leica DISTO™ transfer software you are able to use the data in any software on your computer like e. g. Excel®, Word®, CAD. The also free Auto. CAD® plug-in allows you to transfer the data directly into the program so you can make the drawing just on the jobsite. The DISTO™ with its navigation keys will allow most of the control from itself.
