Legislative Branch House of Representatives l l Each state receives a number of representatives based on their state’s total population. Every ten years each state must begin the process of collecting data the Census.
Legislative Branch House of Representatives l l l Census surveys are sent to every home in each of the state. Every member of the household MUST be accounted for. Census takers people paid to go to homes that have yet to fill out the survey and find out the information needed.

Legislative Branch House of Representatives l l l l Powers the Speaker of the House has: 1) Leads sessions 2) Decides who speaks 3) Calls for votes 4) Makes sure rules are followed 5) Places other representatives on committees 6) Can be president if something happens to the president and the vice president *Speaker of the House has A LOT of POWER!!
Legislative Branch House of Representatives l 1. 2. 3. Qualifications to being a representative At least 25 years old Citizen of the United States for at least 7 years Resident of the state they are representing during their election and while serving as the state’s representative.
Legislative Branch House of Representatives l 1. 2. House of Representatives terms Each representative serves a 2 year term Election or re-election happens in November of every even-numbered year so there is a lot of elections going on this year!
