Legislative Activities Weights and Measures Act: under reviewed by BSMI Regulations revised: Fee-charging Standards for Measuring Instruments, Regulations Governing Management of Metrological Technical Personnel, Regulations Governing Verification and Inspection of Measuring Instruments, Regulations Governing Commissioned Metrological Activities. Technical Specification revised: Technical Specification of Verification and Inspection for Electricity Meters Technical Specification of Type Approval for Diaphragm Gas Meters 11

Other Activities Legal Metrology： 1. 2. 3. 4. New Type Taximeters: Ministry of Transportation and Communication (MOTC) initiated the new type taximeters with new functions and proposed to subside Examinations for Metrological Technical Personnel: The BSMI organized six examinations in 2016, three for Class A metrological technical personnel and three for Class B metrological technical personnel. Up to day, 2, 486 examinees have passed the examination since the program emerged in 2010. Dissemination of SI Units: the BSMI has cooperated closely with domestic museums and schools to hold 33 activities in 2016 to dissemination the use of the SI units. Training: The BSMI scheduled and held four sessions of training programs in 2016. These programs focused on verification skills and opened to BSMI’s technicians and technicians that passed the examinations for metrological technical personnel. 12

Other Activities Scientific Metrology： NML has completed the expansion of Nano Particle Functional Property Measurement System. NML is also working on the project to establish the new Coordinate Measuring Machine Calibration System and Formaldehyde Gas Analyzer Calibration System and the expansion of Calibration in terms of Air Kerma for X-rays. 13
