Introduction � Painting and drawing can be an intriguing way of passing time or a major obsession and way of life. All of us have some kind of artistic ability and the only way to find out what kind we have is to 'have a go'. You do just that.

Factors that govern difficulty of depicting different subjects � No subject is any more difficult to depict than any other. It all depends on the person’s interest in knowledge of, and desire to be conversant with the subject.

Qualifications of a painter � All who wish to paint and draw must have enough confidence to show their work to others, and to carry out their painting studies in the presence of fellow artists.

How to learn more and acquire knowledge � We all learn a great deal by watching others, receiving friendly advice and criticism, especially from those who are experiencing the same difficulties as ourselves. Sharing with others provides mutual reinforcement and very great pleasure; it can also help us sort our own ideas.

Grammar: : Coordinating & Subordinating Conjunctions � Conjunctions are words that link other words, phrases, or clauses together. Thanks to conjunctions, we don't have to write short, choppy sentences. We can extend our lines with simple words like "and“, "but”, or “although”.

Coordinating conjunctions � They join together words, phrases, and independent clauses. With them, short and choppy sentences can be joined into fuller lines. There are seven of them: for, and, nor, but, so, or, and yet. � Examples: � I always take a book to read, yet I never seem to turn a single page. � The men play on two teams: shirts or skins. � Soccer is entertaining in winter, but it's better in the heat of summer.

Subordinating conjunctions � They always introduce a dependent clause, tying it to an independent clause. � A dependent clause is a group of words that cannot stand alone as a complete sentence. An independent clause, by contrast, can stand alone as a complete sentence. � Subordinating conjunctions can often come first in a sentence. This is because of the nature of the relationship between the dependent and the independent clause. � Examples: although, if, because, before, since, until, where, while, …. . etc.

Examples of Subordinating Conjunctions in a Sentence � Because of him, I learned how to start my own business. � Everything � Until will fall into place if you start at the beginning, you try, you'll never know. �I add a new entry to my gratitude journal when I wake in the morning, � As I write this letter, I know I must say goodbye. � Life's been so happy since I moved to Chile.
