Lead Pollution Lead is brought into the atmosphere in many ways. Three of the main ways are: ● Ore and metal processing ● Waste incinerators ● Lead- acid battery manufacturers

Lead Pollution Lead is both an indoor and outdoor pollutant. Lead is deposited into the soil many times after its release into the atmosphere, resulting in environmental problems. Lead is also present in the home too, lead paint, batteries, plastics, and many other things bring the danger inside.

Lead Pollution Lead pollution is a primary pollutant. Primary pollutants are substances directly emitted from a process, many metal pollutants are primary pollutants resulting from volcanic eruptions, gasses, etc.

Lead Pollution Human health can be affected by lead pollution in horrible ways, young people are especially susceptible to these problems. A few examples of this are: ● Decreased kidney function ● Decreased developmental system function ● Decreased oxygen carrying capabilities of blood capillaries. ● Reproductive system complications.

Lead Pollution Our environment is at risk to the pollution caused by lead as well. Some negative environmental effects include: ● Lead causes various neurological issues in vertebrates ● Lead leads to a decreased growth and reproductive rate in both plants and animals.

Lead Pollution Many programs and projects have been put in place to stop this pollution in a single, simple step: stop the use of this substance. If it isn't used, it can't be a pollutant. Since there is no way to really get rid of pre-existing lead in our environment, we must ‘put it away’ as best we can and use less of it.
