Purpose of the LEA Consolidated Plan • The purpose of the LEA Consolidated Plan is to ensure that all children receive a high-quality education and to close the achievement gap between children meeting the challenging State academic standards and those who are not meeting such standards. • Provide additional educational assistance to those students who are not meeting the challenging State academic standards and identify/implement instructional and other strategies intended to strengthen academic programs and improve school conditions for learning. • Develop and implement a well-rounded program of instruction to meet the academic needs of students at risk for academic failure. 2
Summary of the LEA Consolidated Plan • Huntsville City Schools will monitor student progress towards meeting the state’s challenging academic content standards by engaging in the use of various assessment measures. • Huntsville City Schools will ensure that programs and activities for involvement of parents will be provided for all schools with Title I Part A programs. • Huntsville City Schools will develop and implement well-rounded programs of instruction to meet the academic needs of all students as well as identifying students at risk for academic failure. • Huntsville City Schools will identify and implement instructional and other strategies intended to strengthen academic programs and improve school conditions for student learning. 3
