Install SXR in existing LCLS hall q Use existing design of LCLS 2 lattice from injector to bypass. q Use LTU design of LCLS with the following modifications: • add a doublet after muon wall for a better match to the upstream bypass • move V-bend downstream of the dogleg to put the LCLS 2 Sa and LCLS undulators into the same plane • replace dogleg triplets and 4 H-bends by 90 o FODO cells and 2 H-bends • position the 2 nd dogleg H-bend sufficiently far inside the “head house” for reduced interference with walking path • set the H-bend angle for 2. 5 m separation between LCLS 2 Sa and LCLS undulators • position the LCLS 2 Sa TDUND about 5 m downstream of LCLS TDUND q Use undulator cell design of LCLS 2 SXR: • set the end of LCLS 2 Sa undulator at the same Z-position with the end of LCLS undulator • adjust the number of undulator extension cells to 13 to fit between the TDUND and the undulator cells • use 4 quadrupoles in extension cells for focusing q Use dump line design of LCLS 1/7/2022 2
