ERP Outdoor Unit E 1: Three-phase power phase sequence fault 1. Check the outdoor unit phase sequence and the power supply phase sequence are the same. Solutions: If the phase sequence is incorrect, change the wiring, otherwise go to the next step. 2. Measure every phase voltage of terminal block (L 1&N, L 2&N, L 3&N) , and determine whethere is a lack of phase. Solutions: If the phase sequence is incorrect, change the wiring, otherwise go to the next step. 3. If there is a lack of phase, check the wiring and correct; if there is no lacking of phase, replace the main board of outdoor unit.
ERP Outdoor Unit E 2: Communication fault between ODU&IDU 1. Check the communication line on the terminal blocks are not loose, or in the wrong or short-circuit condition. Solutions: If the wiring is incorrect, change the wiring, otherwise go to the next step. 2. Check whether the connector on indoor and outdoor unit PCB is loose or not, if loose, reconnect it , otherwise go to next step. 3. Measure outdoor communications cable resistance of L 1, S, N, and judge whethere is open circuit. Solutions: If there is open circuit in the wire group, replace the wire group; if there is open circuit in the terminal block, then replace the terminal block; otherwise change the main PCB.
ERP Outdoor Unit E 2, E 3, E 4: temperature sensor fault • Check whether the corresponding temperature sensor connector is loose. ERP Outdoor Unit E 9: AC over-voltage / under-voltage protection Three-phase outdoor units: Low voltage protection: When the main board check the voltage less than 172 V it will show E 9 error Over voltage protection: If the AC voltage ≥ 265 V and continue to 30 s, it will show error and turn off the unit. If the AC voltage ≤ 265 V and continue to 30 s, it will automatic recovery. Precision of the voltage checking is ± 3%. Over voltage protection: (1) Check the power input Check the voltage between L and N whether more than 265 V, if yes, contact the power supply department. (2) Check the voltage transformer in the main board Check the output voltage of voltage transformer whether 4. 5 V or not, if yes, change the main board. (3) Check the main board circuit voltage. Check the voltage after half-wave rectification whether more than 2. 5 V or not, if yes, change the main board. Low voltage protection: If all of the voltage we check is normal, it means the core port have problem, it need to change the main board. (1) Check the power input Check the voltage between L and N whether less than 172 V, if yes, contact the power supply department. (2) Check the voltage transformer in the main board Check the output voltage of voltage transformer whether 4. 5 V or not, if yes, change the main board. (3) Check the main board circuit voltage. Check the voltage after half-wave rectification whether lower than 2. 5 V or not, if yes, change the main board.
ERP Outdoor Unit E 10: EEPROM fault 1. Power off the outdoor unit, wait 30 s and then repower on. 2. Check the EEPROM on PCB, reconnect it, otherwise go to next step. 3. Check the indoor PCB capacity switch, it is in the corresponding state, if not, please change it then repower on the unit, otherwise change another main PCB. EEPROM: An electrically erasable programmable read-only memory whose contents can be erased and reprogrammed using a pulsed voltage.
ERP Outdoor Unit H 0: Master chip and IPM chip comm. fault Inverter module and main PCB communication error. Mainly caused by IPM module or main PCB error. 1. Check whether the communication wire between IPM module and main PCB contract is normal. If the plug is loose, reconnect it, otherwise go to next step. 2. Check the main PCB and IPM module board light is ON or OFF. If it is OFF, change another main PCB or IPM module, otherwise go to next step. 3. Check the IPM module board “P” and “N” terminal contact firmly or not. If the plug contact bad, reconnect it, otherwise go to next step. 4. Check CN 11 port connection in filter board. The voltage should be about 310 V, if not, the filter board is broken.
ERP Outdoor Unit H 1: Chips communication failure Check are there any strong electric magnetic interfere source around the unit, otherwise change another main PCB.
ERP Outdoor Unit H 4: Display P 6 protection for 3 times in 30 min P 6: Inverter module protection H 4: Display P 6 protection for 3 times within 30 minutes H 4, P 6: Inverter module protection Heat exchange is not good? ERP Outdoor Unit H 4: Display P 6 protection for 3 times in 30 min Standby If P 6 or H 4 occurs just after power on or when units in standby => related to power supply and control box. First step: Check whether the power supply and wire connection is correct.
ERP Outdoor Unit H 4: Display P 6 protection for 3 times in 30 min Standby Second step: • Three-phase: Measure voltage between A 1, B 1, C 1, N 1 in 3 -phase filter board (380 V, AC) → voltage between R, S, T in IPM (380 V) → voltage between DC+ and DC- in IPM (540 V) → voltage between capacitor (540 V) → voltage between I 1 and I 2 in contactor (0 or low, When using multimeter in ‘Diode’ mode, the I 1 and I 2 should be breakover. ) • Single-phase : Measure voltage between P’, N’ in filter board (220 V, AC) → voltage between DC-1, DC-2 in rectifier bridge (310 V, DC) → voltage between P+, N- in IPM (310 V, DC) → voltage between capacitor (310 V).
ERP Outdoor Unit H 4: Display P 6 protection for 3 times in 30 min Start up If P 6 or H 4 occurs upon compressor start-up => related to IPM board, capacitors and compressor. • First step: Measure voltage between DC+ and DC- in IPM (380 V for single phase unit, 540 V for three-phase unit) → voltage between capacitor (380 V for single phase unit, 540 V for three-phase unit) • Second step: Check compressor 1. Measure the resistance between U-V, U-W and V-W terminals of the compressor, all the cool resistances should be the same and equal to 0. 1 -3 Ω. 2. Measure the resistance between each of U, V, W terminals of the compressor to ground, all the resistances should be ≥ 5 MΩ.
ERP Outdoor Unit H 4: Display P 6 protection for 3 times in 30 min Running If P 6 or H 4 occurs when compressor is running => related to compressor, IPM and PCB. First step: Measure running current Measure current with clamp meter, red (U), black (V) and blue (W) wires of compressor, IU=IV=IW.
ERP Outdoor Unit H 4: Display P 6 protection for 3 times in 30 min Running Second step: Listen to noise and check the frequency change status Inspection items Noise Frequency change Normal Quiet, smooth or continuous Abnormal Loud, discontinuous or metal rubbing sound Load: increased by 1 Hz regularly Frequency change Unload: decreased by 1 Hz irregularly If there is abnormal noise or the frequency is changing rapidly => the compressor is damaged or demagnetization has occurred.

Normally, VU-V = VU-W = VV-W Note: In different frequency, the voltage will be different. Test voltage when frequency is stable. (The below picture is when compressor in 44 Hz. )
ERP Outdoor Unit H 5: Display P 2 protection for 3 times in 30 min P 2: Low pressure protection 1. Check whethere is any leakage or lack of refrigerant. If the pipe length is longer than 5 m, the system should charge additional refrigerant R 410 A unit: R=(L 1*0. 03 kg/m)+(L 2*0. 065 kg/m) R 32 unit: R=(L 1*0. 012 kg/m)+(L 2*0. 024 kg/m) L 1: 6. 35 mm liquid pipe length , L 2: 9. 5 mm liquid pipe length 2. Check whether the low pressure switch connector is loose. If loose, reconnect it, otherwise go to next step. 3. Use a pressure gauge to check the low pressure when system is running. (Normally low pressure should be 0. 7 -0. 9 MPa, when the pressure is lower than 0. 15 MPa, the system will stop and show error ) 4. Pull out the low pressure switch , and use a multimeter to measure the resistance (Normal 0) If it is big infinitely , then change the low pressure switch , otherwise change the main PCB.

ERP Outdoor Unit H 6: Display P 4 for 3 times in 100 min. High discharge temp, low pressure of discharge and suction, low operation current, maybe frost in suction pipe. Charge additional refrigerant correctly? Refrigerant leakage? Too close between outdoor units? Outdoor fan is broken? Short circuit between discharge air and suction air? Too dirty of outdoor coil? Too many indoor units? Total capacity of indoor unit is too big? High temp. of discharge and suction, big operation current? High temp. of discharge and suction, low operation current, low pressure is low? ERP Outdoor Unit H 9: Display P 9 for 2 times in 10 min. P 9: DC fan motor error 1. Power off and then restart the unit 2 minutes later, does it still display this error code? 2. Shutoff the power supply, rotate the fan blade by hand. Does it rotate properly? If not, please check whether the fan is blocked or the screws are not tighten. 3. Check whether the fan module and main PCB connector is loose, if it is loose, reconnect it, otherwise go to next step. 4. Check fan module board. There is a light in the fan module board, if no light ON, change the fan module board , otherwise go to next step. 5. Check the fan module board P and N terminal voltage , normally it is 310 V. If it is 0 V, change the fan module board , otherwise go to next step. 6. If change the fan module , error still happen, change the fan motor ,
ERP Outdoor Unit H 10: Display P 3 for 3 times in 60 min. P 3: AC side/ DC side overcurrent protection 1. Check the main PCB, IPM board code; check whether the power DIAL switch is right. 2. Check the pressure is over high, if yes, check the heat exchange condition, otherwise go to next step. 3. Measure the AC side current, if it higher than the max, it caused by the power supply problem, please improve it. If it is lower than the max, then go to next step. 4. Compare the actual current with spot check value, if there is big difference, change the main PCB. 5. Change another IPM module, if still show error, then change another main PCB.
ERP Outdoor Unit P 1: High pressure protection 1. Check the high pressure switch connector on main PCB is fasten or not. If loose, reconnect it, otherwise go to next step. 2. Pull out the high pressure switch and measure the resistance, normally it is 0, if it is infinity, replace the high pressure switch, otherwise go to next step. 3. Check the outdoor unit heat exchanger is good or not. If heat exchanger is too dirty or something block it, then clear it, otherwise go to next step. 4. Connect to a pressure gauge to high pressure side, check it is higher than 4. 5 Mpa, if yes, it is normal phenomenon. After the pressure decreases down to 3. 5 MPa, the system will recovery, otherwise change the main PCB.

ERP Outdoor Unit P 10: Anti-typhoon protection l Enter condition (need to match all the requirements): (1) FAN motor stop running more than 90 s. (2) Check the fan motor speed more than 400 rpm. l Exit condition (need to match all the requirement) (1) Enter the protection after 2 minutes. (2) Check the fan motor speed less than 400 rpm. l If the unit show P 10 error but there is no external power to make the fan rotate, please cut off the power and then repower on.

ERROR Code shown in IDU E 7: EEPROM error l Check whether the EEPROM is connected well. If loose, reconnect it. l Otherwise, change the new main PCB.
ERROR Code shown in IDU E 8: No feedback of indoor unit DC fan motor l Check whether the fan motor connector to main PCB is connected well. If loose, reconnect it, otherwise go to next step l Check whether the fan motor coil is short-circuit or break, if yes, change the fan motor. l Turn the fan blade, check whether the blade is locked. If yes, get away the blocks. l Change the fan motor.
ERROR Code shown in IDU E 9: wired controller communication error l Check whether the wired controller is compatible with this indoor unit. l Check whether the wire connection is well. l If controller and wire connection are no problem, please try to change a new wired controller. l If the problem still exist, please change the main PCB.

ERROR Code shown in IDU EF: mode conflict l This error only happen in multi split units. l Check if the indoor units are set different running mode. Note: heating mode and ventilation mode are conflict.
ERROR Code shown in IDU F 0: Indoor unit capacity dialing error l Check the indoor unit capacity dialing code, if it is same with the nameplate. l If the dialing is right, change the main PCB.
ERROR Code shown in IDU F 2: T 2 high temp. protection l Firstly, check whether the T 2 temperature sensor resistance is normal. l If the unit is running in cooling mode: • Check the 4 -way valve port is connected well. • Check the 4 -way valve is locked. Change the running mode, to hear if there is “dada” sound from 4 -way valve. If not, the 4 -way valve is locked, change a new one. • If the condenser is too dirty? Or the heat exchange condition is bad? • Measure the voltage of 4 -way valve port. If it is 220 V, change the main PCB. l If the unit is running in heating mode: • Check the indoor unit fan, if it is run normally. If yes, go to next step. • Check whether the refrigerant volume is not enough.
When problem happens, please provide these information to us: • Indoor and outdoor unit nameplate. • Spot check parameters from outdoor unit and indoor unit wired controller. • Some needed pictures of PCB, pipes. • Full description of faulty unit running status: the error appears when the unit start up, or run for a time; the fan motor and compressor status.
