What is LTAC? L-TAC/UHF Comparison • L-Band Tactical (LTAC) is a combination of RF conversion hardware and satellite capacity services supporting multiple types of currently fielded tactical radios. • Slingshot Hardware converts UHF, VHF Low, and VHF High frequency input signals from GFE radios to commercial Lband for transmission on Inmarsat – 4 (I 4) global satellite constellation. • Capacity is delivered in Standard Narrow Spot Beam (NSB) or Regional Beams • • • Each beam is engineered with a single 25 khz channel (base price) Each channel can be configured for (1) 25 khz carrier (WB) or (5) 5 khz carriers (NB) Multiple 25 k. Hz channels can be provisioned in the same beam • Mobility allows the customer to move beams (porting) to different geographical area on any I 4 satellite in the constellation. • No software changes or modifications are required, Any UHF/VHF Mil-STD radio can be connected to the appropriate L-TAC Sling Shot device by a standard RF cable. • No additional operator training is required. • Maritime, aeronautical, vehicular, and dismounted configurations are available. • The Sling. Shot hardware system is a COTS item. Non-ITAR controlled. Copyright Spectra Group Ltd (UK) 2019 www. spectra-group. co. uk
L-TAC/UHF Comparison L-TAC UHF • Regional Coverage: 1/3 of earth per satellite, No portability • Global Coverage and portability across I-4 Network of satellites • 1 x Channel = One operation at a time • • Purchased as 5 K or 25 K Channel for duration of lease, pricing varies Multiple Channels for same cost = Multiple Operations • • Always on, single region coverage Can be Changed between 5 x 5 K and 1 x 25 at no additional cost. • Requires 15 – 50 Watts to close link. • Can be moved or modified every 2 weeks • Higher power is more susceptible to DF. Regional Coverage can be jammed from anywhere in the region. • Requires 400 m. W – 5 Watts to close link. • Lower power is Less susceptible to DF. Spot Beams must be jammed locally. • Must have Do. D UHF TACSAT capable radio • Current Do. D radios or any frequencyprogrammable VHF or UHF radio Copyright Spectra Group Ltd (UK) 2019 www. spectra-group. co. uk
Sling. Shot Overview Sling. Shot - Command Control Voice and Data Communications (UHF-TACSAT alternative) Provides: • Extension of tactical ranges Beyond Line Of Sight (BLOS) to 1000+ miles • Communications On The Move (COTM) with low latency voice and data • SWa. P - Small, Lightweight and low power requirements • Easy to setup and operate • Utilizes in-service secure VHF and UHF radios • Multi-system options providing all operational platform fits • Interoperable communications between various End Users/Agencies/Organizations Copyright Spectra Group Ltd (UK) 2019 www. spectra-group. us

Beams & Channels Standard Beam: Consists of: 1 x 25 k. Hz Channel Flexible Leasing: Pricing is based on a 12 Month lease, but is available in smaller time frames (1 month, 3 moths, 6 months, etc. ) Customised Beams: Beam Shaping – Change the shape of NSB (e. g. Null an area) Increased Power – Increases the coverage of a Standard NSB Double Headed Beam – Link two separate geographical areas (transmitting and receiving in both areas) Double Headed Strap Beam – Point to Point link (where the signal is not received in the transmitted beam) Multi-Channel Beam – Multiple voice networks within one Standard NSB Copyright Spectra Group Ltd (UK) 2019 www. spectra-group. co. uk
