LAYING UP TREASURES There is great interest in the world in savings and investment: 1. Factors discussed focuses on security, growth, and availability. 2. People try to acquire and save what they value the most.

LAYING UP TREASURES The word translated “treasure” means wealth or what we value: 1. It seems to mean what we put first or value the most. 2. It is referred to as “mammon” in Mt. 6: 24. It is what we crave or seek the most. 3. Therefore we must choose between God and material things.

LAYING UP TREASURES “DO NOT LAY UP FOR YOURSELVES TREASURES ON EARTH. ” 1. It is not wrong to desire property to support one’s family. 2. Jesus tells us to neither love nor seek earthly treasures. 3. Jesus gives several reasons for not laying up treasures on earth.
