LAWS/GOVERNING RULES New State
NO STEALING v Stealing is bad and not accepted in New State. v If the object is not brought back to the owner when told to, you MUST pay for what you stole. v You will be entitled to do an amount of community service depending how serious the stealing is. v If you are caught stealing more than once, your punishment will be more severe and you could end up getting kicked out of New State. v This applies to everyone in this community!
OBEY EACHOTHER / BE KIND v New State is a new place to start over. v Forget about the bullies and rude people you know today, because that will not happen here! v We know people argue sometimes over issues, but this can be done in a mature way. v If someone needs help, for example; crossing the street, you are required to do so nicely. v This also applies to casual conversation. v If you break this rule you MUST attend a manners school where they will teach you to be nicer. (You will stay here until you pass the course. )
NO USING DRUGS v DRUGS CAN KILL. This is why it is being excluded from New State. v The only exception of having drugs is the permission by a doctor! v You may not take drugs of any kind without the permission from the New Staters (police) or doctors. v If you are caught selling, using, or receiving drugs illegally you will be removed from New State. No questions asked.
RECYCLING v Since our community is a clean place, you are responsible for recycling anything you can! v We don’t want to waste anything. v Recycling will help keep our atmosphere the best we can to keep us all healthy. v We have a recycling center here. That is where you should bring all of your items. Also every Monday and Friday the Recycling Van will come around to the houses and pick it up for you! v You will be fined if the garbage men find plastic bottles, etc. in the trash. v SO KEEP NEW STATE CLEAN!
RETIREMENT v You can start applying for a job at the age of 15. v The age to retire is at 60. v With retirement you can still work after 60, as long as you are able. v Throughout the years of you working, some of your salary will be put away for this occasion. You should be set after you retire and not have to worry about financial problems! v So make sure you have a job or you won’t be happen when you are older!
CURFEW v Everyone under 18 should be inside before 11: 30 PM. v This is because we want it peaceful at night and no one loud and obnoxious walking around. v If you HAVE to be outside past this time, you are required to be very quite and mature. v If you are found not doing so, you will be escorted home by the New Staters. I am sure your parents will not be happy if that happens!
SCHOOLING v Everyone in New State has to at least graduate high school and strongly encouraged to go to college. v If you fail and do not graduate when you are suppose to, you have to go school until you do graduate. You have until the age of 21. v Having this rule will make New State better! v You will most likely later on getting a better paying job and more successful life.
BE APART OF NEW STATE v To be apart of New State you have to do a certain amount of v v hours to help us out! You must do at least 5 hours of community service each week. Also if you get in trouble with any other rule, you might be required to do more work. If you do more than asked voluntarily you get something in return as a thank you from New State! There are many various community services you can do like; working at the animal shelter, raking leaves, mowing the lawn etc. This is a rule because once you are done helping someone or something, you will feel great!
RELIGION v In New State you are free to believe whatever you want! v No one will or should judge you. v Different churches and whatnot are all over this community, so you would be set! v Every holiday will be recognized and celebrated as wished. v This is a great place to come together as one when everyone is so different!
