Types of Employment 1. Casual Employee No definite definition can be given. He has no permanent place or office and he is employed in a daily basis for some special work. He is employed outside the regular business or trade. Employed for a casual job. If he is asked to come regularly, for eg. once a month, for cleaning he cannot be designated as a Casual Employee 2. Temporary Employee can be easily confused with casual employee. Main difference is that a temporary employee is employed for regular or normal jobs which is part and parcel of the employer’s business but for a short period of time. © Mevan Kiriella Bandara

Types of Employment 3. Fixed Term Contract A person employed for a Fixed Period. The Contract comes to an end at the end of the period. No requirement to extend the contract.
