Law Enforcement (Police, RCMP) Police officers keep people safe and enforce the law. They patrol the community and respond to calls about crimes and accidents. Requirements: High School Police/RCMP Training Program (after you’ve been recruited) Canadian citizen or have permanent resident Proficient in English and/or French Driver's licence Health and psychological standards Vision and hearing standards Physical fitness/abilities
Border Services A team that protects the safety and security of Canada and Canadians, while ensuring the free flow of admissible people and goods across the border. Requirements High School Canadian Firearms Safety Course and the Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course Driver’s Licence Standardized Tests Second language Evaluation (Some positions require employees to be proficient in English and French) Physical Fitness/Abilities Psychological Requirements Medical Exam Willing to accept an assigned posting anywhere in Canada
Corrections Officer Correctional officers maintain order in jails and prisons. They supervise and control the inmates to ensure that the facility remains secure. Requirements High School Physical fitness Criminal Record Search, Child Abuse Registry Check, and Adult Abuse Registry Check Internal security checks First Aid and CPR certificates Drivers license 10 week Correctional Officer/Juvenile Counsellor Training Program
Security Guard Security guards provide peace of mind. They protect buildings from theft, fire, vandalism, and break-ins.
