Development of HR on Urban Sector The project on capacity building for water supply system in Cambodia (phase 2): 1 - Grant from JICA 2 - Duration 2007 to 2011 3 - Target on public water supply sector 4 - 5 subjects for main training, there are: - Treatment Plants - Electrical facility - Water Quality - Mechanical facility - Distribution Network 13
Urban Water Supply Challenges • Dry season water shortage in several Provinces: • • Sihanouk Ville, Siem Reap, Kampong Cham, Battambong, . . . Water sources degradation from domestic wastes. Network bacteria contamination, because of old pipeline. The blooming of the private sector with a lack of experience and education. No EIA for small scale water supply projects 14
