latrobe. edu. au What is SHE 3 FRW? § Third year elective subject § 15 credit points § Work Integrated Learning (WIL) subject = Combination of placement + learning activities on LMS § Offered in Semester 2 and Summer 1 (Nov-Feb) each year
latrobe. edu. au Can I do SHE 3 FRW? Students wanting to enrol in SHE 3 FRW: § Must have third year elective subject available § Must have fully completed 120 credit points § Have self-sourced an approved work placement OR successfully obtained a university-advertised placement
latrobe. edu. au Subject Requirements § Hurdle: 100 – 140 hours of approved work placement § 15%: Personal Branding assignment (career plan, response to selection criteria etc) § 30%: Oral Presentation (create a solution to a problem/difficulty you’ve identified in the workplace) § 35%: Written Reflection (reflect on skill development and artefacts gathered as evidence of skill development) § 20%: Evaluation of your performance by Employer
Placements? ! What? How? When? Where? latrobe. edu. au § Self-Sourced – you are expected to find/organise your own placement § Occasionally we have placements that we advertise that you can apply for § Placement related to your course § Must have a dedicated workplace supervisor and be on-site § Placement activities must constitute a genuine WIL opportunity – not just photocopying or making coffee § Students at third year level should do more than just observe! § Must complete between 100 -140 hours of work placement during the teaching weeks of Semester 2 or Summer 1

latrobe. edu. au After submitting your application… Self-sourced placements § The WIL team will vet (assess) your potential placement. This involves calling the employer and checking that the placement meets university requirements. § If approved, sign the WIL Agreement between the University and your Employer and upload to In. Place § Receive email approval to enrol from Subject Coordinator § Submit a Variation of Enrolment form. The online form can be found under the enrolment tab in Student. On. Line. § Start placement and LMS activities!
latrobe. edu. au Advertised opportunities Occasionally, we have organisations offer us placements and we will advertise these on the SHE 3 FRW webpage If you are applying for an advertised opportunity – Provide position number – Provide Cover Letter (explaining why you want the position) and CV
latrobe. edu. au After submitting your application… University-advertised placements § The WIL team will forward CVs and Cover Letters from students to the employer § The employer may request an interview with students § The WIL team will notify students of outcomes § If successful, sign the WIL Agreement between the University and your Employer and upload to In.
